Since 1989, Dr. Strahan has led medical-surgical teams that provide reconstructive surgery for children (mostly cleft lips and cleft palates) from all over the world, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Philippine Islands and Pakistan.  More than 1000 children now enjoy a more normal life as a benefit from these teams.
